Police gun down two notorious armed robbers in Sawla
Two notorious armed robbers have been gunned down in a battle with the Sawla District Police Command in the Savanna Region, in an attempt to escape during a robbery incident on Sunday, December 12, 2021.
The police services in a statement issued by the Director-General of Public Affairs, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Kwesi Ofori, explained that the two notorious robbers who have been terrorizing residents and travellers in the Savanna enclave were killed during a gun battle with the police.
“Following a distress call about a robbery attack at Weicho, the Police in partnership with some community members immediately responded and pursued the suspects who were on motorbikes. The suspects engaged the Police in a shootout leading to the death of the two suspects,” the police statement partly read.
The Police assured that other accomplices in the robbery incident that managed to escape arrest would be pursued and smoke out from their hideout
