Prof Atta Mills banned Hampers and Mistakenly left Christmas tree- Ako Gunn
I was surprised yesterday, when I heard this year happens to be the tenth anniversary of the passing of the good old Professor, JEAM; May he continue to Rest In Peace, but when I realised Nana Addo is exiting through the fifth door, and has only 3 more doors, reality dawned on me.
I can remember vividly how the phone kept on ringing. Everyone looking for confirmation or denial.
From door to door, room to room, stereo to stereo, speaker to speaker all dials fixed on radio gold 90.5 where the difference was obviously crystal clear!!! Everyone knew if it was true, radio gold will break the news.
Hearts begun to beat, the weather begun to change seconds moving so fast but didn’t seem to be affecting the minutes which had refused to move. The wait was unbearable, and soon the kokomlemle office was cladded with red and full.
Ten years down memory lane, radio gold is preparing to come back on air this month to continue from where it left off. I will talk about the come back of some radio stations later next month when they start their test transmissions.
The memory of Professor Mills will live with us for a very long time. And I can boldly say NDC has produced transformational leaders who will always be remembered for a thing or another.
He fought corruption, embraced opponents, raised leaders, shaped vision and tried to influence society and proved you can be a Christian, a politician and walk blameless.
He hoped to see political witch hunting being a thing of the past. Unfortunately Nana Addo has erazed all those polical gains. Today, even dye in the wool supporters of Professor Mills believe father for all was his mistake though perfectly intended.
The last Christmas, I got one hamper from my boss at Brainsfield, and another during the new year from a friend I met through a daughter of mine. I didn’t receive them because Professor Mills is no more, but I know Professor Mills will rather ban Christmas trees instead of the hampers if he was alive today.
The cost of its transportation, fixing, nurturing, on sight photography etc can take care of hampers and allowances for staff.
Truth be told, power exposes thieves and absolute power breeds impunity !!! The more they try to justify, the more they give themselves up for prosecution.
I prophesied that this year John Mahama and the NDC will be vindicated and whitewashed like Crystal by the NPP appointees.
Listen to Paul Adom Okyere who claims the cost of the Christmas tree he ordered was lower than that of any appointees of Nana Addo who served before him. Really!!! Then we must go back to see the level of waste that is making them attempt to hang E-Levy on our necks.
He added , though mine was cheaper, it cannot be compared to that of the John Mahama appointees, that served up to 2016. Alhamdulillah !!!
The chicken will definitely come home to roost. The same person that called the Mahama appointees thieves!!!
The future is indeed pregnant, and Ghanians will see the sacrifices the NDC government made to have terminal 3 and many such infrastructures dotted around the country for them to come and share amongst themselves.
Under the NDC, his letter would have been ready before he gets the guts to even stand before the cameras to explain any nonsense to us with pride.
Anyway, the elders say fishes start rotting from its head, so you can’t expect much from rotten fishes, we can only pray for better days ahead.
