MP for Adentan Praise Teachers for Sacrifices made to improve quality education
The Member of Parliament for Adentan, Hon Mohammed Ramadan has showered praises on teachers within the Constituency for their sacrifices over the years to bring the needed quality education in the area.
According to him, despite the many challenges, especially in accessing to schools due to bad roads and unbridged drains, these challenges have not prevented the teachers from performing their duties diligently.
Hon Ramadan made the comments when he visited Junior High Schools Teachers in Adentan, during their orientation courses on the Common Core Programme under the New Curricular by the Ghana Education Services in Adentan, last Friday, January 14, 2022.
While expressing his appreciation to the teachers for the effort been made to impart knowledge on the pupil under the poor condition of services, the MP assured that his office would work in collaboration with the municipal Directorate of Education to come with Adentan Best Teachers Award Scheme in the Municipality.
He said the working team for the Best Teachers Award Scheme to be constituted would come out with the modalities as to how best to recognize “your hard work and dedication.”
He commended the teachers for their performance and willingness to strive for excellence, pointing out that, records have shown the performance of students and pupils from the municipality in the last year BECE results had been remarkable.
The MP added that teachers serving in deprived areas in the Municipality should be given a pat on the back for their sacrifices in educating children there, stating, “I know how some of you strive on daily basis, crossing gutter and on bad roads to reach to the school. It is not easy but we will do everything to also recognize and appreciate your effort.”
He also reminded the teachers to keep abreast with today’s technological advancement.
Madam Gifty Mussey, the Adentan Municipal Director of Education said, the teachers were drawn from 383 Junior High Schools within the Municipality for the three Day orientation courses on the CCP.
The orientation courses, she said sought to enhance the teachers capacity and skills in teaching and as well keep them abreast with the new GES Curricular and syllabus.
The teachers, Madam Gifty said were segmented based on a course that includes Mathematics, English, social studies, French, Creative Arts, Pre-tech, RME, among others.
The MP was accompanied by the Assembly Woman for Gbentaana Electoral Area, Ms Ella Nongo, the NDC Constituency Chairman Baba Abdallah Zakaria and other executives as well as some staff members from the Office of the MP.
