Don’t drag me into Adwoa Sarfo Saga- Speaker Refutes reports.
The Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon. Alban Bagbin has refused wicked media propaganda that he granted permission to Dome Kwabenya MP Sara Adwoa Safo to be absent from Parliament.
According to the Speaker, he has not granted Adwoa any permit and that Votes and Proceeding in Parliament is clear evidence of such mischief.
He however served notice he will give full disclosure on absentee MPs on Friday, February 25,2022.
The Speaker reaction followed wide circulated media reports that he granted permission for embattled Dome Kwabenya MP, Sara Adwoa Safo to absent from Parliament.
Mr Bagbin told MPs on the floor the matters of who is present and absent are captured in the votes of proceedings for all to see and thus does not lie in his purview.
He said he will use the opportunity to explain to the House what is absent and who is absentee MP.
The Dome Kwabenya lawmakers have come under fire by her party on grounds that her absence has caused the party’s failure in Parliament to secure majority to pass the E-levy Bill.
The 1992 Constitution, specifically Article 97, and the Standing Orders of Parliament forbids MPs from absenting from the House for 15 sitting days within a meeting
