If for nothing at all the National Executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) should be held absolutely responsible for the attitude and stance of runaway Member of Parliament (MP) for Dome Kwabenya Sarah Adwoa Safo.

It is a well-known fact that there’s no smoke without fire thus the executives of the party should have buried their ego and settled the issues immediately after their party primaries. Sarah Adwoa Safo had not been happy about some party decisions which led to her change of attitude and near abandonment of her party.

First of all reports from the grapevine had it that she was not happy with her removal as Deputy Majority leader of Parliament, though she was elevated to Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

The question here is, was she consulted widely to ensure she was satisfied and okayed with her reshuffle? What did the party executives do when she asked that she went unopposed in the NPP primaries leading up to the 2020 elections as was done to the Majority leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu?

ADWOA SAFO

Was she afforded enough protection or did some of the executives intentionally and openly supported Ghana’s Ambassador to India Mike Oquaye Jnr to contest her and possibly oust her? She wanted the principle of what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander prevail but her party people flagrantly and conspicuously ignored her.

Today, she had become the cornerstone around which the obnoxious E-Levy hangs. Indeed! Her absence is really hurting government business, but na who cause am?

Now that the party needed the numbers to pass important legislation in the August House, they want her to smile to the house and vote? Hell no!

Since she took her to leave last year, she had not been in Parliament since the house resumed. She’s in the USA laughing at her party’s struggle to pass the controversial E-Levy policy.

She had been accused of holding government business to ransom and obstructing the business of government. Some of the executives have naively suggested a move to initiate the process for her removal from Parliament.

Instead of using all avenues to ensure she traveled back home to participate in government business, ironically they wanted to initiate a move to kick her out of parliament at this time? Very strange indeed!

It was time Party executives called for amicable settlement of any existing dispute with the MP who doubles as minister of state.

Her baby daddy Kennedy Agyepong should be made to keep mute on matters involving Adwoa Safo.

Possibly her father should be prevailed upon to respectfully intervene in the matter.

Indeed if all else fails, the President of the land should get involved because they need the numbers and it would be an exercise in futility for her to be removed from Parliament. It’s high time she’s managed because to her, she has nothing to lose.

Finally, Kennedy Agyapong should be made to apologize to her baby mama for using derogatory words to describe her.

A stitch in time saves nine.
