Hon Wisdom Cudjoe made the commendation in response to news reports that the Ghana Chamber of Mines has donated US$4 million to the Appiatse Fund as its contribution for the victims of the explosion.

He said as representative of the people in parliament, he would forever support any legitimate form of campaign that is aimed at supporting the victims who are currently living in tents at the mercy of the weather.

The MP further called on other mining companies in the country to emulate their counterparts in this trying time to give hope to the displaced victims.

He said the explosion has sadly left a huge problem and something that we need as a nation to tackle as a society.

He reiterated his calls on the government to expedite action in the provision of permanent houses for the residents as the tents in which they currently camped could not withstand bad weather during the rainy seasons.
