Minsiter for Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu is expected to meet his Indian counterpart, Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi in Delhi to have some engagement with him about the functioning of the ministry of Parliamentary Affairs which Indians also operate.
The astute legislator who is currently in India to chair the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) International mid-year EXCO meeting told AGN.
“When we finish with this meeting, incidentally the Indian subcontinent branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association will be having their own CPA conference here beginning the 11th of this same month that will be the following day after we have closed our executive meeting” he said.
The Majority leader further stated that, he’s also expected to participate in the Indian Subcontinental CPA Conference after the EXCO meeting which is already underway, report AGN’s Princess Arita Anim.
“I have been nominated as a guest personality for the Indian Subcontinental CPA conference here. So I have to be here on the 11th through to 13th after our executive meeting on April, 10” he added.
He said it was important he meets with his counterpart to learn more from India.
“I will leave to Delhi to meet my counterpart, the minister for parliamentary affairs after the conference to have some engagement with him about the functioning of the ministry which Indians also have. We want to learn from best practice since they have had it for long. So we would know how it’s operate here”.
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is an Indian government ministry founded in 1949. It is headed by the Union Cabinet Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. It handles affairs relating to the Parliament of India, and works as a link between the two chambers, the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
