The former Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency, Hon Frederick Opare Ansah has officially filed his nomination to contest the General Secretary position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The former lawmaker is among six others candidates contesting for the position of General Secretary to unseat the incumbent, John Boadi in the upcoming NPP delegates Conference.

Speaking to Journalists after filing his nomination forms on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the Party Headquarters in Accra, Mr Ansah expressed optimistic to sail through vetting process to contest for the GS position.

He assured party faithful of his commitment to serve their interest when he become the general secretary.

The vetting of all aspirants is expected to commence on Monday 20th June, 2022.

Mr. Opare Ansah served four terms as a Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency.

The former MP had held several portfolio during his tuner as Member of Parliament, notable among them are Deputy Minister for Communication, Minority Chief Whip from 2007 to January 2009, Chairman of the Select Committee on Communication in the 7th Parliament.
