The Minority in parliament on Saturday June 25, joined hundreds of mourners to observe one week of the death of Opanin Samuel Kwame Agyepong, father of Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Chairman and Founder of JOSPONG Group of Companies.

The Minority Leader Hon Haruna Iddrissu led the Minority caucus in Parliament to console the Zoomlion Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the private residence, Teshie-Nungua Estate in Accra.

Other members of the Minority members were First Deputy Whip, Ahmed Ibrahim, Andrew Dari Chiwitey, MP for Sawla/Tina/Kalba, Christian Otuteye, MP Sege, Ernest Norgbey, MP Ashaiman, Desmond Paitoo, MP Gomoa East, Sophia Ackuaku, MP for Obom-Domeabra, Betty Krosby Mensah, MP Acram Plains North and Alhassan Ghansah, MP for Asikuma-Domeabra.

The rest were Rita Sowah, MP for Dadekotopon, Ben Ayiku, MP Leszorkuku, Naa Momo, MP for Krowor, Kofi Adams, MP for Buem, Joseph Appiah, MP Afram Plains South and others.

The Minority MPs made presentation to the family toward the final funeral rites.

National and regional executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were also present to sympathize with the Zoomlion Boss.
The National Chairman, Samuel Ampofo, General Secretary, Johnson Aseidu Nketia, National Communication Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, Peter Boamah, Deputy General Secretary, David Annang, a leading member, Dr Kwabena Duffour, Dr Spio Gabrah, Madam Cecilia Johnson, among others.


Earlier the Vice President Dr Mohamudu Bawumia, and some Ministers of State including Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Samuel Abu Jinapor, Lands and Natural Resources, Ken Agyepong, MP Assin Central, Joe Ghartey, MP Sikado-kentan, Joe Osei Owusu, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Henry Quartey, Greater Accra regional Minister, among MPs from.the Majority side of parliament.


Business tycoons Ibrahim Mahama and former CEO of Metro TV, Alhaji Fatal, among others were also present.


The late Opanin Agyepong died at the age 98.
He is expected to be buried on September 10, 2022, after a funeral services at the Forecourt of the state House Accra.
