The Member of Parliament (MP) for Gushegu Constituency in the Northern Region, Hon Alhassan Tampuli has cut the sod for the construction of an Ultramodern Bus Terminal.

The ground breaking event was jointly performed by the Municipal Chief Executive of Gushegu Municipality, Robert Dawuni Yaja and the Regent of Gushegu, Naa Mahamudu Shitobu yesterday.

Mr. Tampuli, also the Deputy Minister for Transport initiated the project funded by the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), estimated at One Million, Seven Hundred and Forty Thousand, Seven Hundred and Thirty-one Ghana Cedis, Forty Eight Pesewas (GHS 1,740,731.48) and is expected to be completed in Six (6) Months.

Mr. Tampuli in his speech reiterated his commitment to bringing development to the people in the Gushegu Constituency.

He called for the support of the constituents as he is determined to lobby relevant authorities to bring more development, especially in the area of agriculture and infrastructure.

The Deputy Transport Minister stated that in addition to the five (5) new farm tractors he procured to help farmers in the Constituency, another brand new farm tractor, together with its plough, harrow, trailer, planter and a multipurpose processor has been procured and would be delivered to the constituents in the coming days.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Yaja, on behalf of the chiefs and people of Gushegu thanked the MP for his continuous show of leadership and years of commitment to the development of the Municipality.

He assured the contractor of the support and cooperation of the Assembly for the successful execution of the project.

The contractor, DAAYA Company Limited also pledged to complete the project within schedule.

The project is expected to provide jobs to dozens of the youth in the Constituency.
