Pay WAEC to avoid BECE &WASSCE Cancellation- Minority tells Govt
Prospective candidates for the 2022 West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) for both Basic Education Certificates and Senior Secondary Schools examination may be disappointed due to the Government’s huge indebtedness to the Council.
The Minority, through its Ranking Member, Dr Clement Apaak has hinted that, due to the indebtedness, the West Africa Examination Council will be greatly affected.
The Minority is therefore calling (Government to as soon as possible to clear the GHS21 million it owes to WAEC.
According to him, WAEC would need GHS 96 million to be able to organize the 2022 BECE and the WASSCE Basic Education Certificates Examination and West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
He therefore called on Government to release money to the Council to avoid any distorted academic system.
Dr Apaak further disclosed that similar situation is affecting7 the Buffer Food Stock and Capital Grants and food in schools to the MP, Will last for only two weeks.
