Over the weekend, the NPP Eastern Regional Secretary, Anthony Adjei visited Ofoase Ayerebi constituency.

Together with MP for the constituency, Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah whose popularity amongst party members and the constituent at large is fast eroding if not completely eroded.

The duo met with some polling station executives and threatens to remove the name of any polling station executive from the party’s voter’s register, if that person engages any Parliamentary or Presidential aspirant of the NPP party .

This unfortunate development is afront to our party’s quest to break the ‘ 8’.

In our respectful view this is alien to our party constitution and processes, and should be of great concern to all members of this great party.

Meanwhile both Tony Adjei and the constituency assistant secretary were openly campaigning for Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and admonished all the executives to vote for only Oppong Nkrumah and his preferred Presidential candidate.

We believe this is total disrespect to Mr. Justin Kodua Frimpong the party’s General Secretary who has stated that all national, regional and constituency officers of the party should desist from publicly declaring support or campaign for any presidential or parliamentary hopefuls before and during the party’s internal contests.

We the concern polling station executives of the Ofoase Ayerebi constituency are calling on the General Secretary, the Eastern Regional Chairman, Mr Jeff Konado and his executives including the Eastern Regional Patrons of the party as a matter of urgency to call the Eastern Regional Secretary, Anthony Adjei to order and admonish him to desist from causing unnecessary confusion in the Ofoase Ayerebi constituency.

We wish to emphasise our abhorrent to the dangerous moves by the Regional Secretary which was instigated by the embattled MP, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

Anthony Adjei should be held responsible for any unfortunate development in the Ofoase Ayerebi constituency.
