I look Up to God for the Truth –Col Damoah says
Embattled former Commissioner of Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Col Kwadwo Damoah is said to have said that the true reason for his removal from office would be known one day when God speaks.
Information picked by EXPRESSNEWSGHANA from the corridors of GRA indicated that Col Damoah is said to have jittery told a loyal staff who was empathizing with him upon hearing the news that he had been directed by the President to hand over his office to his Deputy as Commissioner.
It is not clear but Col Damoah might have been inspired by the book of John in the Bible which reads, “In this world, you will have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
Col Damoah was on Friday, August 26, 2022, asked by President Akufo-Addo to hand over his duties and office to his Deputy Commissioner pending a substantive Commissioner of Customs of GRA.
No one wants to hear those ominous words on a Friday afternoon: “the President of the Republic has directed that effective Friday, 26th August 2022, you hand over your duties and office to the acting Deputy Commissioner (Preventive Services),” But throughout your career, it could happen.
It does to many people with strong work ethics and well-honed job skills. Your heart cries—Where are You, God? Why did You allow this? Don’t You care about me and my family? Why didn’t You intervene?
This could have been motivated by the former Military officer who is revered among his peers in the army as a man of principles.
Until Col Damoah moved to the Customs Division, he once work as Director of Man[power and Personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces and brought some changes that today improved upon Military recruitment.
Col Damoah was in the news recently after the Special Prosecutor released a report on alleged corruption and corruption-related issues involving Labianca Company, a private company that belongs to a member of the Council of State.
Not long after that, the Office of the Special Prosecutor issued another directive to the Customs Division of GRA to seize any activity involving the Auction of state vehicles which the Special Prosecutor signal its moves to investigate.
