I Can’t be with Alan again, ‘I’m not a fool’—Chief Agbaa Fuseini
Chief Alhaji Agbaa Fuseini, a popular supporter of the Trade and Industries Minister, Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten who is aspiring to lead the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2024 general elections has defected to the camp of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
At a press conference to announce his decision to cross carpet, Alhaji Agbaa who until today was known for his strong criticism of the Vice President said he had to take the painful decision.
He said “Northerners have not been treated fairly” by the team of Mr. Alan.
“I was fed with false and deceptive information and therefore turned my gun on an innocent promising young personality”, he told the journalists at his palace on Tuesday, August 30.
According to him, Alan Kyerematen’s statement defending Hopeson Adorye’s ethnocentric comments even provoked him more.
“It is for this reason and the manner my good friend Alan reacted (“Hopeson was misinterpreted”) to Hopeson Adorye statement ( “Vice Presidency is always reserved for Dombos (Northerners)) and others made are some of the reasons why I have organised this press conference to render unqualified apologies to DMB and also to withdraw all the articles and open letters I wrote against him,” he stated.
He urged other members of the party not to tow Hopeson Adorye’s lane and be civil with their comments in order not to divide the party.
“Let us stop the ethnocentric bunk. It is dangerous! Remember that bigotry is an emotional disorder. It is a delusion and hence a psychological issue,” he stated.
This comes after the former NPP Parliamentary candidate for the Kpone-Katamanso constituency and Alan’s campaign team member stated at a pro-Alan health walk in Kumasi on Saturday, August 13 that Northerners in the NPP are only fit to be running mates and not flagbearers.
“There is one thing I am going to say. The NPP has a tradition. Our tradition is Busia, Danquah and Dombo. Danquah represents Eastern Region and the bottom (south), Danquah represents Ashanti Region and the Bono areas, while Dombo represents Northern Region.
He continued: “whenever a Danquah leads the party, the Busia side steps aside but there is a Dombo (for a running mate), and whenever a Busia leads, the Danquah side steps aside but there is a Dombo (for a running mate). As for the Dombo’s they are always there (for a running mate).”
Meanwhile, he clarified in a press statement that his remark was doctored for mischief purposes by members of the Bawumia camp.
He clarified that “I wish to state categorically that, I never said in plain words that Northerners are fit for running mates. The video is partly doctored for mischief by Bawumia’s Camp.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I stated that in NPP there is a particular formula that has been used since the formation of the Party. The formula is Christian-Muslim Ticket.”

The last time they called me Alhaj Agbaa Alan AAA was on the 13th August 2022, after the “aduro wo so” health walk in Kumasi. I was part of the organisation of this health walk.
Little did I know that some facts of the exercise were concealed until we were in the middle of the walk and majority of the crowd were chanting bigotry songs against northerners and Moslems. I got mad about it and withdrew myself and my people from the walk.

As a matter of fact, when facts are concealed or suppressed in a certain situation, different interpretations are bound to emerge.

Patriots, there is a saying that: it is only a fool who doesn’t change his/her mind.
I am now therefore well informed about the true situation of our flag bearer race and I will come out at the right time to educate delegates within the nook and cranny of the electoral college on the false and deceptive information used to outwit their intelligence.
This should be the case in the debate leading to the election of our Party’s 2024 flag bearer. The conversation should be about who can unite our Party, be truthful to us, energise the base and motivate the grassroots to rekindle our spirit for the 2024 electioneering campaign.
Most importantly, the person must have the capacity to be President.

To solve this emotional disorder, you must improve upon yourself, humble yourself, find out why you feel the way you feel, make an effort to solve every challenging situation intelligently, make it a policy to improve the lives of all other persons, do not believe whatever you or someone says to you unless verified, give everyone an equal opportunity in life and kill your anger always.
