In line with its commitment to becoming sustainable by design and using only recyclable materials, the Guinness Ghana Company Limited has made a unilateral decision to phase out our Orijin Bitters sachet product line.

This means consumers will, from the end of September 2022, would no longer be able to purchase Orijin Bitters sachet on the market.

Announcing the development in Accra, Managing Director of Guinness Ghana, Helene Weesie, pointed out, “Even though the sachet is selling well, it has a foil which is not recyclable and won’t support the business commitment to ensure 100% of our plastics is designed to be widely recyclable by 2025.”

“So, phasing out sachet in consumer packaging is a big step on our journey to make our packaging solutions more sustainable and support the overall commitment to reduce plastic pollution”, she added.

The company would therefore come up with other packages that would meet the demands of the local consumers and customers.
