The Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Hon. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has made big interventions for residents in communities recently hit by torrential rains that led to a devastating flood.

The MP who is the Majority Chief Whip in Parliament provided over GHS10,000 worth of relief items which include Bags of rice, cooking oil, and boxes of mackerel to the flood victims.

He told local media, the relief items are his personal intervention package to the residents who were adversely affected by the natural disaster before the government agency responsible for disasters comes in.

“These are my personal interventions to assist them. Because of the circumstance they find themselves in, this will provide the victims with some temporary relief,” he noted.

Hon Annor-Dompreh, however, use the opportunity to call on the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), other individuals as well as cooperate entities to move in to support the victims.

The recent torrential rains resulted in the Densu River overflowing its banks and displacing over 2,000 residents within the area.

Some of the Communities that got badly affected were Gyankrom, Lanteh, Adoagyiri, Okobeyeyie, Owireku, and the lorry station.

Other residents are temporarily seeking shelter in churches and schools, others are seeking refuge with relatives on higher grounds.
