I have What it Takes to Lead Kpando NDC Youth to Victory 2024- Henry Affordofe
With few days for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to hold its new Constituency executives elections, one critical position to look out for is the Constituency Youth Organizer in the Kpando Constituency in the Volta Region, which is expected to be keenly contested.
A very vibrant and well-articulate youth activist, Henry Affordofe, popularly known within the Constituency as “Black Wadada” filed his nomination and expected to make the incumbent, Nelson Deh run for his money.
Henry told EXPRESSNEWSGHANA via telephone interview, he stands tall against his main contestant to capture the position of the Constituency Youth Organizer to be able to marshal the Kpando youth wing of the party to victory in 2024.
According to him, he has what it takes to organize the Kpando Youth to retain the Parliamentary seat and as well push to maximize the Presidential votes for the NDC for a national victory.
He outlined his objectives to delegates and said his bid to lead the NDC youth in Kpando into the next general elections, as the party seeks mandates from the good people of Ghana to rebuild the country’s badly collapsed economy.
Henry said he had traveled the level and breadth of the Constituency, touching base with the party faithful; in particular the youth, and come to the realization that the youth front needs to be seriously reenergized and rejuvenate.
As part of his vision, Henry vowed to build a strong resilient, and fearless youth front for the party in Kpando, asserting that, “We must re-energize the party youth if we are to win the 2024 elections. This forms the heartbeat of the youth.”
“After listening to the many concerns of the teeming youth of our party, I am convinced that, indeed, the party requires a person of not just my experience and capabilities, but my character and integrity, to lead the charge into Elections 2024, God willing,” he stated.
“In doing this, I would take care of the young people in the party, and this will be premised on my ability to resource the youth wing to build enough capacity to lead. I will also provide opportunities for young people in the party, and ensure the aggressive mobilization of first-time voters,” Henry added.
In his opinion, young people for the party represent the pull factors and elements needed to help contribute towards the realization of the historic come of the NDC in 2024, emphasizing that his vision is to ‘Re-Energise’ the party youth.
He said he was convinced that with this agenda, spearheaded by himself, and with support, resources, hard work, and integrity, the youth of the party would be adequately energized for victory in 2024 and beyond.
Henry reiterated his commitment to spend most of his time working with the grassroots to better their lots.
“I will do this by standing with them and working with them to ensure that grassroots problems we face are attended to swiftly and solutions proffered. I believe that the young people in this party remain the biggest resource of the political organization,” he added.
Henry’s main contender, Nelson Deh is seeking reelection having led the Kpando youth for two consecutive terms.
Nonetheless, Henery believed he will win the constituency elections to lead the NDC youth in Kpando to victory, promising unity and cohesion to revamp the youth front.
.The party will hold the Constituency elections at the weekend on October 22 and 23, 2022, while the regional elections would be held between November 12 and 13, 2022.
The National Congress will be held on December 17, 2022.
