I Have What it Takes to maintain Accra Zongo’s as NDC Strongholds –Horoya assures
The Greater Accra Regional Zongo caucus Coordinator for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Ismaila Ali Horoya has expressed confidence that he has what it takes to retain Zongo’s communities as strongholds of the Party within the Greater Accra Region and capture more of the parliamentary seats for the party.
He hinged his confidence on the fact that his performance for the party in the 2020 elections has yielded dividends having recaptured most of the Zongo community’s parliamentary seats the party lost in 2016.
The Regional Zongo’s caucus Coordinator added that Ghanaians, especially the Zongo communities have come realized the lies and the deception of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and have regretted given them the chance in 2016, for which reason they were deceived by a Zongo Ministry in 2017.
“I have done it before and my record in the Region is not in doubt. Any member of the NDC can attest to what I did to enable us to win the 2020 election within the Zongo communities in the region as the Zongo Caucus Coordinator?
‘With the support of my Constituencies Coordinators, we rise from down as opposition party and recapture the seats from the ruling party. For instance, through my work, we recapture Madina, Ablekuma Central, and Okai-Kwei North which is partly occupied by the Zongo. And we won all these with the biggest margin ever. So there is no need of trying someone else.
“I am here to serve once again and for the interest of the party, the Great NDC. I have what it takes to move everyone along to mobilize, campaign, and to sell our message. We are suffering and we should not make a mistake,” Alhaji Horoya said during an interview with EXPRESSNEWSGHANA after vetting on Monday, October 17, 2022.
While assuring that his next administration as Zongo’s Caucus Coordinator would focus on the welfare of members who believed he did not do much in his first term, the NDC Zongo’s Coordinator said he is also targeting more seats and as well maximizing the votes of the NDC.
He further expressed confidence that, “The NDC will win in 2024, we will not only retain our seats, we will win more constituencies because our Members of Parliament (MPs) are working despite the fact that they have limited resources as opposition MPs. to undertake projects and programs that would inure to the people.
He reiterated his commitment to work closely with every constituency when retain to bring the party to power.
Hon Horoya is being contested by two other persons including the man he defeated in the 2018 regional elections.
But he expressed optimistic he will be retained to continue with the agenda to restore the NDC dominance in the Zongo communities in the Greater Accra region and
