Akufo -Addo lacks sense of Compassion and Empathy to suffering masses-Dr Sandaare
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Daffiama/Busie/Issa has berated President Akufo-Addo for doing little to alleviate the plight of the suffering masses.
According to him, the President has failed to provide solutions to the economic hardship Ghanaians face in his last Sunday address to the nation.
He there is no day passed without an increment in the price of goods and services, especially foodstuff and fuel, thereby making the masses suffer.
The President in an address to the nation on measures to fix the economic crisis mentioned salary cuts of the executive, a clamp down on illegal forex traders, and efforts to get cheaper petroleum products for domestic consumption as the government’s magic wand.
But Dr. Sandaare a Member of the Health Committee of Parliament believed, the only solution is for Ghanaians to vote out the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration in the 2024 election to rescue the nation.
“The only hope is advancing a collective agenda to vote out this clueless government. Clearly, they are more confused now than before. The demeanor and tone of the president presented a clear message that he is not ready to show compassion and empathy to the suffering masses,” Dr. Sandaare said on his FACEBOOK sighted by EXPRESSNEWSGHANA.
He noted that Ghanaians are suffering as transport fares have gone up, making movement difficult but the president failed to show compassion and provide urgent solutions to reduce their plight.
Other key issues have to do with the failure of the Bank of Ghana which is entrusted with the responsibility for price stability.
The Bank of Ghana has the responsibility to maintain what Inflationary Targeting Framework, which is built around making sure that the government does not unnecessarily borrow from the Bank of Ghana to finance the budget.”
Last year, the Bank of Ghana lent to the government about GH¢35 billion and in May this year, it lent an extra GH¢22 billion. This has put a lot of money into the economy yet the dollar is still on the high to the cedi.
Economic experts say that there is so much cedi chasing the dollar which is why people are pushing for the sacking of Ken Ofori-Atta, Charles Adu Boahen, and Dr. Ernest Addison, for they have teamed up to derail the economy and compromise the nation’s future.
