In his determination to shore up the economic status and standard of living of the people of Adentan Constituency under the “MP Support Program”, Hon Mohammed Adamu Ramadan has empowered over 26 constituents, male and female, young and old with economic tools and machines worth thousands of cedis.
The MP Support Program is an initiative of the Adenta Lawmaker aimed at empowering people, especially women and youths with incentives that will alleviate poverty and provide them with job opportunities in the state.
The beneficiaries were empowered with Tricycles, fridges, freezers, PolyTanks, Television sets, and industrial sewing machines, among others.
In all, 15 people receive tricycles, five received Polytanks, four received fridges, freezers, and double door fridges, two people received industrial sewing machines, two groups received television, and an education institution also took ten ceiling fans.
Speaking at a short but impressive ceremony to hand over the tools to the beneficiary constituents under the empowerment program at the Constituency on Monday, November 28, 2022, Hon Adamu Ramadan popularly known among his constituents as “RAM” Mohammed reiterated the commitment of his administration to gradually and relentlessly pursue economic empowerment programs aimed at alleviating the hardship of the constituents as a result of poverty.
He added that it was the people who voted for him to represent them in parliament, hence his commitment to work hard to empower them and to help alleviate their plights.
The MP said that following the country’s economic hardship, most of the beneficiaries applied to the MP office for support.
According to him, the beneficiaries are being supported without any political consideration, stressing it is simply to help and boost their economic activities to address the problem of unemployment and alleviate poverty among our people, especially “the vibrant youth and women.”
Hon Ramadan assured that the same gesture would be replicated and is open to all constituents who need support.
He said his administration as MP for the Adentan Constituency placed a high premium on empowerment through job creation as a testimony of his commitment towards poverty alleviation.
“The ultimate goal is to enhance access of the poor to financial services to boost the productivity of micro and small scale enterprises, thereby reducing poverty”, he stressed.
Besides the MP economic empowerment program which has its main objectives to encourage and support the people to engage in entrepreneurship, the Adentan lawmaker has also taken steps to minimIise the challenges residents go through on their deplorable roads.
He has since after assuming office in less than two years been engaged in human capital development through upgrading and reshaping the roads and other infrastructural facilities which provide a conducive and enabling environment for business activities to thrive.
Some of the beneficiaries who received their items and tools expressed appreciation to the MP for his timely intervention and promised to put the tools and items to good use to serve the purpose intended.
Present at the program were Constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Eric Lomoh, Vice Chairman Moses Kwadwo, Organizer, Eric Paddy, Secretary Larry Nana Aikins, and a host of other key members of the opposition NDC in Adentan.
