My bank and all other banks or financial institutions must be proactive in communicating to their depositors, clients and other investors on the Government Debt Restructure Program.
Communication is all about sharing the necessary information with your stakeholders: clients, investors, depositors etc.on the current nationally related matter on the table.
The new diction or phrase is ‘no haircut on our investments’. So far,it is the economists, bankers, financial analysts, and the ivory towers who comprehend or can make meaningful deductions from the issue and the actual impact of that ‘animal’ called haircut on my investment.
I know my bank and others have Public Relations Unit(s), Communications Departments and other External Relations Units.
Their major role is to communicate effectively on matters pertaining to their institutions to their publics both internal and external.
They should be proactive and communicate with us about the future of our investments.
In communication, proactive ness and timeliness are key.
This is not the time for quietness and only being reactionary when the damage has been caused.

We should be informed and educated on the future of our investments.
Any procrastination on the part of our investment holders (bankers, fund managers) will be detrimental to the entire financial sector.
I know, I have not entered into any bilateral or unilateral contract or agreement with the Government, and therefore, I expect nothing from the Government, when it comes to my investment.
Any haircut by the Government should not be transposed to my head and hair and any innocent investor or depositor.
My bank should come out and assure me and others of the safety of our investments.
Many of us are in a dilemma and are having sleepless moments on the matter.
A positive assurance from our banks and other fund companies or managers will avert any fear or explosion.
Effective Communication is the way to go.
