MP Donates over 70 bags of Rice to Christian Council in Chereponi for Xmas Festive

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Chereponi Constituency in the North East Region, Hon Abdul-Razak Tahidu has presented over 70 bags of rice and cartons of Cooking oil as his humble contribution to the Christian community in the Constituency to mark this year’s Christmas celwbration.

He said the Christmas period should be used to strengthen existing friendships and establish new ones.

While presenting the food items, Hon Tahidu urged the Constituents to show mutual respect for one another’s religion and try to live peacefully with one another irrespective of political, cultural, and religious differences.

“It is with great pleasure that I,on behalf of myself, the government, and the entire people of Chereponi extend my warm and sincere message of goodwill to all Christians on the occasion of the 2022 Christmas Celebration.

“Throughout his life, Jesus Christ preached peace, honesty, love for one another, and, above all, fear of God. It is these virtues that people, irrespective of their religious belief, are enjoined to imbibe and put into practice.

“While we celebrate the event with meditation and happiness, we should also reflect seriously on our routine and spiritual deeds in the past years and pray to God for better and prosperous years ahead,” he said.

The Christian Council leadership led by Rev Fr Emmanuel of the Catholic Church and Rev Kofi Azumah of the Assemblies of God expressed appreciation to the MP for the gesture.

They commended the MP for supporting and helping the Christians residing in the Constituency to enjoy and have fun filled celebration.

They however prayed for the success of Hon Tahidu administration and the sustenance of peaceful coexistence in the Constituency.
