MP for New Juabeng South Put Smiles On The Faces Of Over 5000 Constituents.
Tears of joy and a great sigh of relief it was at the children’s ward when the member of parliament for New Juabeng South constituency in the Eastern Region, Hon Michael Okyere Kofi Baafi paid the debt for kids on admission at the Koforidua Central Hospital covering parents whose wards were discharged but could not go home as they were unable to settle their hospital bills due to financial constraints.
According to the MP, a total of Ghs15.000 was presented to him as bills for both kids on admission and those discharged but could not pay their bills.
This was done during the annual food bazaar for kids on admission at the Koforidua Central Hospital, held at the kids ward.
Speaking at the colourful event, hon Baafi stated that “no parent or kid wishes to spend Christmas at the hospital but sickness has made this inevitable” this he said has been his motivation to celebrate Christmas with kids on admission annually.
The MP also announced Nurses award scheme in January 2023 to celebrate and appreciate all hard working nurses within his constituency.
MP’s Children’s Party
Right afterwards, the deputy trade and industry minister, hon Baafi proceeded to Anlo Town, a suburb of Koforidua to continue with the 6th anniversary of the massive “MP’s Children’s Party” which witnessed over 2000 children from all 34 electoral areas who were engaged in various activities such as; quiz, swimming and dance competition, singing, poetry, among others.
Winners of the competition were presented with; bicycles, uniforms, parcels, Christmas dresses, food items, etc. This annual event falls on every 28th day of December
Dinner With Police Officers
Morals boosted, works appreciated, awards presented to hard working police officer of the year 2022 at the Eastern Regional police headquarters in Koforidua when hon Michael Okyere Baafi hosted dinner With Police Officers in his constituency as part of his Christmas celebration.
Free Shopping
“Shop and go” which drew over 500 senior citizens aged 70 and beyond were presented with a free coupon to randomly shop from items on display at the Ascension hall on December 24, 2022
The food products include;
Maize, yam, cocoyam, plantain, cassava, rice, oil, beans, goat meat, chicken, cow meat, eggs, fruits and vegetables were not exempted.
Party With Widows And Widowers
They were not left out, as many as 350 widows and widowers had their share of the Christmas gift as hon Baafi had a feast with them and presented them with a half piece of wax prints ( six yards each) at the Ascension hall on 30th December, 2022.
Donation of Hearse To Koforidua Zongo community
The Presentation of ambulance) hearse to the Koforidua Zongo Community, donated by the MP for the New Juaben South Constituency….Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi.
The MP was installed as Jarma(Warrior) in the Palace of Sarkin Zango.on December 25.
The chief, Alhaji Hashiru Issah Kurmi (V) and residents of the Zango community couldn’t hide their joy as decades of their request for a hearse has been met just within two years of his tenure as member of parliament.
A Visit To Former NPP Polling Station Executives
In his quest to re-unite the grassroots for victory 2024, the MP visited some of the immediate past polling station executives in their homes on Thursday and Friday 29th -30th December, presented them with Xmas gifts as he urged them to forge ahead for victory in the 2024 general elections and not backslide for losing their positions.
Other December giveaways were; free intra city transport, free advert on Afeema 103.3 FM, in and out door games, etc.
31st Night
Climaxing the Christmas celebrations, hon Michael Okyere Baafi joined the paramount chief of New Juabeng traditional area, Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng (III) and other dignitaries at the Central Methodist church to offer thanksgiving sacrifice to God as they bid farewell to the year 2022 and welcome the new year 2023 with new activities.
