First Sky Group settles medical bills of kidney patients
The First Sky Group has settled a whopping sum of Ghc 26 million towards the treatment of kidney diseases and transplant of patients in relieving them of the high payment of the medical cost.
The Group has held its 20th anniversary celebration with the core of prioritising and leveraging its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the health sector particularly the support to the dialysis department of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
The Group have sponsored scores of kidney patients to abroad for treatment and forms part of over 300 patients that the Group have successfully effected payment of their medical bills.
Speaking at the anniversary celebration, the Founder and Chairman of the First Sky Group, Mr. Eric Seddy Kutortse said plans are far advanced to construct a state of the art kidney center at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital with cutting edge facilities.
According to him, the Group have successfully settled the needed bills of kidney patients as and when they are admitted for treatment adding that the Group’s passion is to have a sound and healthy human wellbeing in all fields of endeavour.
Reflecting on the COVID-19 pandemic coupled with global economic challenges, he said the Group did not embark on the laying off of staff, salary cut, but diligently maintained the terms and conditions of its over 5,000 workforce and explained further that the vision of the Group is primarily to create jobs and wealth for the Ghanaian populace.
Turning the spotlight on the Group’s array of companies, he mentioned, Seren Insurance, Volta Seren hotel, First Sky Construction Limited and Commodities, First Sky Bitumen Processing Limited and Energies Limited, First Sky Group CSR and Fretol Rural Bank Limited adding that the growth and development of the Group is about God’s faithfulness and his abundance grace.
For his part, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Group for its tremendous support to the dialysis department and urged other bodies to emulate the shining example of the Group.
“In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the global meltdown the Group continue to pay the medical bills of patients”, he said and however appealed to the government to support the dialysis department.
The Minister of Roads and Highways, Mr. Amoaku Attah who represented the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo praised the Group for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) exercise and said it is also the best construction company in the road sector.
He said the Group growth is a testimony of God’s blessings as well as of the Christian values and principles that it has applied in the working life of management and staff and however thanked the Group for their support towards the construction of the National Cathedral.
The Minister urged the Christian community in the country to support the construction of the Cathedral and said in spite of the current economic challenges God has been faithful to Ghanaians and the world at large.
