Akufo-Addo’s ineptitude Responsible for Ghana’s Economic turmoil-says NDC MP

The Member of Parliament for Ejura-Sekyeredumasi Constituency, Hon Mohammud Bawah Braimah has blamed the dwindling value of the Ghanaian currency-the Cedi and the scary economic situation on the ineptitude of President Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
The MP who is a member of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament said this in an interview with EXPRESSNEWSGHANA in parliament, on the sideline of the ongoing public hearing of the PAC on the 2020 Auditors Reports of various state agencies in Accra.
He said the Cedi is today taking a hit against foreign currencies especially the United State Dollar, because the current administration has shown gross incompetent in the management of the economy.
According to him, the failure of the President Akufo-Addo/Dr Bawumia/Ken Ofori Atta led government to find solution to the biting fuel crisis, the depreciation of the Cedi in the country has wrecked the nation’s economy.
The opposition MP slammed the Government for planning to trade away the local investors and individual Bonds under the sneaky Domestic Debts exchange programmme.

Hon Bawah Braimah

While lamenting on the rising cost of living as a result of skyrocket price of food stuff and other dependable commodities, Hon Bawah expressed sadness that Akufo-Addo had refused to heed wise counsel from the NDC and Ghanaians against the appointment over 120 Ministers of state, the over 1000 presidential staffers and level of borrowing.
He said, President Akufo-Addo’s rejection of the advice had left the nation with no hope of any solution to the current economic crisis and its attendant hardship on Ghanaians.
In his view, it now clear to all that President Akufo-Addo -led NPP Government is bent on wrecking the nation, instead of abating the situation which he said is getting worse.
Hon Bawah also accused the government of deceiving Ghanaians in its recent of increment of wages by 30 percent and in few days increase utility tariffs to over 29 percent.
He said: “I am deeply concerned by the cost of living crisis, which is daily worsened by the hyper inflation inflated on Ghanaians by the ineptitude of the Akufo-Addo administration. A price of Bag of Maize which uses to be GHS200 is today is about GHS600.00, and more hardship is ahead.”
