We won’t allow False Prophets to Mess up Ghana-IGP Justifies
The Inspector General of police, Dr George Akuffu Dampare has defended the police decision to issue warning against persons spreading faselhood communication that causes fear and panic in the country in the name of God.
that, the Ghana police is According to him, the police are not against prophecies made in the country, but the manner in which they are being communicated could cause fear and panic.
The IGP was reaponding to a question posed by a member of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament at it’s public sitting in parliament on Thursday, January 19, 2023.
The IGP was in parliament to clarify some financial infraaction of the Poloce services captured in the Auditor General Report of state institutions and agencies for the year ending 31st December, 2020.
He said this as a response to a public interest question by the Member of Parliament for Offinso-South , Dr Isaac Yaw Opoku, who wanted to know if there is a ban on prophecy in the country.

Also speaking on the persistent internet fraud by faceless people in the name of MPs, he said, the trend is unfortunate and the police will work hard to reduce the Canker.
He called for cooperation from parliamentarians and the communities to fight crime.
The IGP added that crime is a share responsibility and urged citizens to take their security seriously.
