Nii Odoitso Odoi Kwao Family supports La Market Association
Nii Odoitso Odoi Kwao Family and some Elders have donated an amount of Ghc 20,000.00 towards the welfare of women of the La Market Association at a ceremony at La in Accra.
The gesture reflects on the bond of cordial relationship between the family and the Associations which have lasted for many years.
Presenting the cash, the Head of the family Mr. Mike Nii Odoi Laryea, said their ancestors came from La and as such their upbringing was primarily nurtured by the La Community.
“It is in these regard that the family thought it wise not to forget their roots therefore it is a step in the direction to support the welfare of the women in the market”, he said adding that donation of the money will be an annual programme to support women as well as others who are in need.
Receiving the cash, the Queen Mother of the La Market Association, Madam Christiana Yemole, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the family for their wonderful support and promised that the money will be used for the welfare of the women.
She however called for God’s blessings and abundant grace for the family and prayed for spiritual guidance and protection for the Elders for having them in addressing the welfare of women at the market.
The Queen Mother of the La Market asked for other La descendants to emulate the shining example of the family and pointed out that the ancestors of La have contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of the La Community which have impacted greatly on the people of La and its environs.
“The bond of relations will continue to be strengthened from these gestures and we the market women are extremely happy for the wonderful ceremony”, she said.
