The outgoing Minority Leader, Hon Haruna Iddrisu has commended the Member of Parliament for Ayensuano, Hon Teddy Safori Addi be retained as parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the party upcoming parliamentary primaries.

According to him, for Hon Teddy to win the seat for first time in 20 years, is a mark of a good fighter and should not be change at this crucial time the NDC need to form.the next government.

He said as leader of the Minority, he remained loyalty to all the incumbent NDC MPs who want to return to parliament, especially MPs who won seats for the first time for the party since the Fourth Republic.

Hon Teddy captured the Ayensuano seat from.the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the 2020 general, making it the first time in 20 years ever.

He won with 19,211 votes representing 47.31 percent to beat then incumbent NPP MP, Samuel Ayeh-Paye, who obtained 18,970 votes representing 46.71 per cent to annex the seat for the NDC.

Despite the economic hardship in the country Hon Teddy, a member of the Employment and Social Welfare Committee of Parliament has not abandoned his constituents.

He has always been in.the constituency and in many ways help to fix some of the numerous challenges.

For within his two years of his four year mandate, Hon Teddy has touched lives either for an individually or a community as a whole.

He focused much on social intervention policies including supporting women groups, youth skill training, health, education, among others.

Hon Teddy on many times joined his constituents to fix bad roads leading to farming communities as part of his ‘Fix Yourself” projects to reduce post harvest lose of farm.produces.

Ayensuano is one of the deprived constituencies in the Eastern region.

Apart from the Accra -Kumasi major highway, there is no any tared road in the Constituency and this had compelled the MP to dragged the Minister for Roads and Highways several times to the floor of parliament to answer questions on the bad road network in the area.

Nevertheless, Hon Teddy said he remained focused on working hard to justify the confidence the people of Ayensuano reposed on him and the NDC in the 2020 elections.

He added that he would continue to contribute his quota as MP to the development of Ayensuano and urged the NDC party to give him another chance at the upcoming primaries.
