The Greater Accra Regional Zongo Caucus Cordinator of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Ismail Ali Horoya has called on the party elders and leaders to wake up and resist what he term”planned intimidation “to cowed it’s members from criticizing the government.

According to him, the government of President Akufo-Addo had taken planned to use the security agencies to intimidate members of the NDC to advance their political course towards 2024 general elections.

He said the recent action by the police services arresting members of the NDC youth at the least issue is the handiwork of the government to intimidation on NDC members who are courageous to stand up against the ills in the country.

He cited the police swift interest to arrest members of the NDC youth who misconducted themselves at the party youth and women Congress in Cape Coast last year and the recent arrest of the Suame Youth organizer as instance cases of act of intimidation.

Hon Horoya therefore called on the party hierachy to sit up as the 2024 approaches, saying, ” if we don’t sit up, if our leaders don’t realize the tactics and wake up, they (NPP) will use the security agencies to intimidate our based, especially our youth.”

“Let me say that, it is a fact and evidently clear the NPP will lose the 2024 elections.So the motivate done of the security agencies, mostly person’s dinning with them to ensure that any utterance by our members which does not suit them are arrested.”

” I want to call on our leaders, our elders to sit up, they should not say the police are doing their work, because many people have made action or utterance more serious , but because they are members of the NPP, they walking free, but when it comes to the NDC, the police are quick to make arrest,” Mr Horoya told EXPRESSNEWSGHANA in an interview in Accra.

He said the party should not take these tactics lightly as the 2024 approaches.
