Members of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference (GCBC) have said they will be left with no other option than to picket at the Jubilee House should government fail to intervene in the ongoing conflicts in Bawku.

The Bishops said they are saddened by “Recent developments in Bawku leading to the death of 15 peoples and other people sustaining varied degrees of injuries. We are deeply concerned about the deteriorating
security situation in the area.”

Speaking at a press conference on February 9 at the National Catholic Secretariate, Former President of the Conference and Bishop of the Konongo-Mampong Diocese, Most Rev. Joseph Osei-Bonsu said “We hope that Government will listen to the press statement and do what is right. But if it doesn’t, then we may have to walk to Jubilee house with some people from Bawku and picket the place”
