Some aggrieved traders from Nzema who plies their trade at the Agbogloshie Market in Accra have accused Vice President Dr Mohammud Bawumia for forcibly taken over portion of the market where they sell their goods.

According to the Traders, some heavy built body men dressed in Smocks and other black Uniforms have storm their portion of the Agbogloshie Market and drives them away from the Market.

The traders made the allegation when the briefed members of the Parliamentary Press Corps after they Petitioned the Deputy Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Ellembele, Hon Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah.

The traders who deals in various produces including cooking oil and other vegetables asked the Vice President to withdraw his men and look for an alternative space to build the Toilet facility for the Kayaye’s.

Leader of the aggrieved traders, Mr Patrick Somuah said they have occupied the place for years having moved from different locations in Accra and settled at th or present pace by city authorities and wondered why the Vice President should unilaterally take decision to remove them without consulting them.

The traders therefore petitioned parliament through the MP for Ellembele to intervene and save their trading business.


Mr Somuah said most of them have children and single parents who take care of their families through the trade and collapsing their business taking the market space from would further widen the gap of poverty in their communities.

Hon Kofi Buah commended them.foe.not taking the law into their hands to resist the moves by the Vice president Men.


He said he would forward their message to the leadership and to the Speaker to see how best the issue would be resolved.
