My Focus is to Develop Agotime-Ziope- MP reaffirms Commitment
The Member of Parliament for Agotime Ziope Constituency in the Volta Region, Hon Charles Agbeve has reiterated his commitment to the development of the Constituency.
According to him, the expansion of infrastructure in health, education, water and sanitation, roads and electricity remained his priority to open up the constituency for investors
.He said the Kpetoe Kente Weavers have been one of the key investment ventures of which he is working to make it more economically viable for the indigenes who have over decades make the traditional cloth one of the best in the country.
Hon Agbeve disclosed this to EXPRESSNEWSGHANA, in parliament, after he filed his nomination to contest for the NDC parliamentary primaries scheduled for May 13, 2023.
He has filed as the sole aspirant for the Parliamentary primaries, thereby making him go unopposed for the second time.
Mr. Agbeve enjoyed the same popular endorsement during the 2019 Parliamentary primaries.
He told EXPRESSNEWSGHANA that though he is a sole candidate, he will never take the needs of his people for granted.
Hon Agbeve said for the past six years since he entered parliament, he has brought some development to the constituency in all sectors of development.
He mention that he has built about five HPS compounds to improve access to health care, has provided about three schools infrastructure to communities through the support from Pencil of Promise, an NGO, and has also drilled and merchandised several boreholes to reduce the water shortage problem in the constituency.
The MP said, the biggest problem the constituency face is the increasing number of youth unemployed and promised to work hard to bring some development projects that would help the youth engage while providing an opportunity for skill training programmes.
While expressing his gratefulness to the delegates for their support over the years, he urged them to vote massively for John Mahama comes May 13, 2023, as “he’s coming to build the Ghana we want.”
Mr. Agbeve was elected to Parliament in 2016, after the former MP for the area, Mrs. Juliana Joycelyn Azumah-Mensah stepped down after 12 years in Parliament.
He is currently a member of the Health Committee as well as the Government Assurance Committee.
Before he became MP, Mr. Agbeve was a District Manager of the National Health Insurance Scheme, in Agortime-Ziope District.
The NDC Presidential and Parliamentary elections are scheduled for May 13, 2023.
