FIX Our Bad Roads to Boost Local Economy- MP for Ayensuano Appeals to Govt
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayensuano Constituency, Hon Teddy Safori Addi has appealed to the government to come to the aid of the constituency in fixing and rehabilitating bad roads to boost the local economy of the area.
According to the MP, over 90 percent of the road network in the constituency is in a bad state and has caused untold hardship for the people, as most economic and social activities in the area have been grounded to a halt following the state of the road.
Hon Teddy revealed this to EXPRESSNEWSGHANA after he posed a question to the Minister for Roads and Highways on the floor of parliament last Thursday, March 30, 2023.

“Mr. Speaker, I rise to ask the Minister for Roads and Highways when the contractor on the Otomfo to Boase Road will begin work as the road is in a very deplorable state,” the MP quizzed the sector Minister.
In response to the question, the sector Minister, Hon Kwesi Amoako Atta said the 10km roads of Otumfo and Boase are communities along the Akorabo feeder road are engineered roads but in poor condition.
According to the Minister, there is no upgrading or rehabilitation work on the road currently, “however, an emergency construction of 2/4m X 4m Box Culvert located at Km 7+300 was awarded on 3rd August 2022 has been completed.”
He said as part of the government’s plans on roads, road engineering design studies and cost estimates for the upgrading of the entire 10.5 km road including the Otomfo to Boase section have been carried out.
The Minister assured that the procurement of the works on the road would be considered under the 2024 budget to make the road more accessible to motorists.
Nevertheless, Hon Teddy appealed to the government to, as a matter of necessity, rescue his people by fixing the road.
He said the current state of the road is affecting local farming productivity as well as health and education as residents could not travel to access healthcare and school children find it difficult to access school whenever there is rainfall.
He also urged the constituents to continue to support him to deliver his mandate as MP, assuring that, he would continue to engage the government and its agencies to bring the needed development of the constituency.
