The Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Hon Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor has said the activities of LBGTQ+ will pollute the education system and force children and students to learn things in school that do not pass the test of moral aptitude.

According to him, God in His wisdom created man and woman for procreation and therefore it would be dangerous to the existence of human society if a man has to cross another man and the same for women.

Hon Dafeamekpor. made these comments when he took his turn to contribute in support of the second reading of the Promotion.of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill 2021, on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

The Report of the Constitutional, Legal, and  Parliamentary Affairs Committee was laid by its Chairman, Hon Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, and seconded by Hon Bernard Ahiafor, MP for Akatsi South.

Hon Dafeamekpor said the Bill is an important bill such that, it would control the activities of the LGBTQ+, where the practitioners are making efforts to pollute Children and destroy the future of the country.

He argued that persons who promote the activities of LGBTQ+ have failed to convince the proponents of the Bill as well as the committee that the Bill invariably violates the sexual law of Ghana or the United Nations (UN) Charter and Convention on Human Rights.

While urging the House to pass the Bill into law after consideration, the South Dayi lawmaker cautioned that Ghanaians should be on the guide as the promoters and practitioners of LGBTQ+ have published a Bible and using it to pollute children with the claim that they could be gender neutral and that there is no gender segregation like He or She.

He added that, to a large extent, the Bill which sought to prohibit the activities of the LGBTQ+ in Ghana has not breached any law, either national or international when passed, adding that Ghana will join the ranks of its sister countries like Uganda to have pass the anti- LGBTQ+law.

He said the Laws of Ghana are grounded enough to validate the Bill in its form and purpose.

Again he said despite being harassed as proponents of the Bill in some countries, where they faced discrimination at in public and as well been denied the right to change currencies at certain points, they remained resolute to ensure the passage of the Bill as expected from Ghanaians.

In his considered view, passing the Bill into law would go a long way to protect the Ghanaian family values and sanitize the society from uncultured and unnatural carnal knowledge practices.

The South Dayi lawmaker added that the activities of LGBTQ+ are injurious to human society and countries that promote such practices would in the short time become extinct.

He called on his colleagues MP to support the Bill to be passed into law to save the future of the Ghanaian Society.

The Bill is being sponsored by eight MPs under the Private Member Bill, seeking Parliament to pass into law against the practices of LGBTQ+ in the country.

The bill will oblige all public and educational institutions to promote ‘proper human sexual rights and family values’.

This includes promoting discredited psychiatric and medical concepts that pathologize LGBTQ+ people and aim to leglegitimizenversion therapy as a cure for queerness.
