Make Good Use of Time Back in Classroom-Hon Dafeamekpor Urges Pupils of Peki-Avetile
The Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Hon Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor has urged pupils of the Peki-Avetile Methodist Basic and Gov Co Demonstration Schools within the South Dayi Constituency of the Volta Region to take their education seriously and aspire to the height.
He said they could only become responsible citizens to contribute their quota to national development if they make good use of their time back in the physical classroom.
Hon Dafeamekpor, made the call when pupils and Teachers of the Peki-Avetile Methodist Basic and Gov Co Demonstration Schoolspaidy an excursing to Parliament in Accra on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
The MP said he was “delighted” to see children in parliament observe proceedings and urged them as they socialise with their peers, to always stick to their books as education is the only means by which they could use to achieve their future aspiration of becoming members of parliament.
He also appealed to teachers to continue to give up their best to impart knowledge to the pupil, stressing that, as MP he would also work hard to bring the needed infrastructure to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
Hon Dafeamekpor also encouraged the pupils to eschew anti-social activities that have the tendency of derailing their future of becoming important citizens.
Hon Yusif Sulemana, MP for Bole-Bamboi and Hon Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, MP for Awitu-Senya West who took turns to address the pupil, urged them to take their education seriously and as well be patriotic to their nation in whatever they do now and to their future.
The two MPs also charged the pupil to remain respectful to their teachers and parents who contribute largely to their future and ensure that they do their school assignments and as well support their parents at home.
The over 90 pupils were accompanied by 13 teachers led by Madam Prudence Yaa Semakor.
