Bad Roads ‘Detains’ Bawumia Convoy on Campaign Trail

Vice President, Dr. Mohammudu Bawumia, Convoy has been detained by bad roads in the Asempaneye community within the Ashanti region, on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

He was on his campaign to become a flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party for the 2024 general elections.

A video footage that went viral on social media showed the Vice President Convoy stuck in the mud of the main road in the Asempaneye, a farming community in the Offinso North Municipality.

Some residents were seen in the video trying to provide manpower support to the convoy team to remove the V-8 Land Cruiser from the muddy road.

The incident has attracted varied citizen comments on social media.

While some are empathizing with the convoy team, others are of the view that the bad roads have exposed the pretentious “Year of Roads” mantra by the Akufo-Addo-led government.
