A member of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom and a delegate to the 66th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Accra, Hon Lord Mann has said economic stability, peace and security would forever be KEY issues for the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) to tackle.

According to him, the prime objective of CPA would not be achieved without stable democratic governance and economic stability, stressing that security remained in the heart of CPA.

“I must say that, Peace and security is absolutely at the heart of CPA and that is what we strives all the time to ensure that there is peace, security and economic stability in commonwealth countries all over the world,” Lord Mann stated.

Speaking to EXPRESSNEWSGHANA at the ongoing 66TH CPC in Accra, on Thursday, October 5, 2023, Lord Mann believed a strong Commonwealth Parliament will help to also promote human rights, good governance and, in turn, the future prosperity of all its members.

Ghana, he said has over the years played a leading role in efforts to strengthen and reform the CPA to ensure it remains relevant to fulfill its potential and commended President Akufo-Addo, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Alban Bagbin, and the Clerk to Parliament, Mr. Cyril Kwabena .Nsiah for hosting the 66th CPC successfully that brought together of over 700 people.
