The Member of Parliament for Chereponi Constituency in the North EAST region, Hon ABDUL-Razak Tahidu has said, that Vice President Dr  Momamudu Bawumia would get 100 percent endorsement at the Presidential Primaries election on November 4, 2023.

According to him, the Vice President has unwavering support from delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)  in the Constituency, and they have pledged to ensure he obtains absolute endorsement.

Speaking in an interview with EXPRESSNEWSGHANA in Parliament yesterday, Hon Tahidu highlighted Vice President Bawumia’s outstanding qualities, extensive experience, loyalty, and sacrifices for the party, making him the strongest candidate for the 2024 elections.

He emphasized that Dr Bawumia’s ability to unite all sections of Ghanaian society and various religious backgrounds makes him the ideal candidate to lead the party’s quest for a third-term electoral victory, often called ‘breaking the 8’ in NPP parlance.

“The Vice President has served well as Vice President, defending the programs and policies of our government and remains the only existential threat to the electoral fortunes of John Mahama and the NDC, of all the candidates vying for the flagbearership slot,” he said.

Furthermore, HonTahidu said, the Vice President is a listening person and that anytime an issue is put before him and he has the means, he willingly addresses it without delay, adding,” Bawumia as I know him, does not forget people. If you mention your name to him, today, he will not meet you next time and ask for your name again. If you draw his attention to an issue and he has the means, he will address it no matter how long it might take,” the MP added.

He however believed Dr Bawumia’s Presidency would be able to tackle some of the teething problems in the Northern part of Ghana, especially road network, education, health, agriculture and employment opportunities for the youth and women.

The Chereponi lawmaker explained that his support for Vice President Bawumia is deeply rooted not that they are all from the North East Region but that the Vice President has what it takes to bring the needed development to the country.

“Between all the aspirants vying for the flagbearership position, Bawumia stand tall and I will not mess words to say he will win my constituency if not 100 percent but I can say 98 percent,” Hon  Tahidu stated.

Dr. Mahamud Bawumia, won the super delegates conference in August 2023, with an overwhelming 67 percent to lead the race for the five selected aspirants for the main primaries on November 4, 2023.

He is currently on a campaign tour to the regions where he campaigned in almost all the constituencies to give him the nod to lead the party.
