The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has extended deadline for the Licensing and Accreditation of Cyber Security Service Providers (CSPs), Cyber Security Professionals and Cyber Security establishments.

Sections 49, 57 and 58 of Act 1038, Act 2020 mandate the CSA as a Regulator of Ghana’s cyberspace to license Cyber Security Service Providers (CSPs) and accredit Cyber Security Establishments (CEs) and Cyber Security Professionals (CPs).

Such an accreditation process provides recognition to accredited cyber security professionals, who have proven demonstrable competence in their specific cyber security profession.

EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR THE LICENSING OF CYBER SECURITY SERVICE PROVIDERS (CSPS) AND ACCREDITATION OF CYBER SECURITY PROFESSIONALS (CPS) AND CYBER SECURITY ESTABLISHMENTS (CES)

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) brings to the attention of the public the extension of the deadline for the Licensing and Accreditation of Cyber Security Service Providers (CSPs), Cyber Security Professionals (CPs) and Cyber Security Establishments (CEs) from September 30, 2023, to December 31, 2023.

This extension is to allow Cyber Security Service Providers (CSPs), Cyber Security Establishments (CEs) and Cyber Security Professionals (CPs) who have not commenced the process of obtaining licences and accreditations to do so in compliance with Act 1038. The extension is also in line with the CSA’s adaptation of a collaborative approach in regulating the industry, and the need to create an enabling and vibrant ecosystem that allows for the development of the industry.

The purpose of the regime is to ensure regulatory compliance with Act 1038 and to provide a streamlined mechanism for ensuring that Cyber Security Service Providers (CSPs), Cyber Security Establishments (CEs) and Cyber Security Professionals (CPs) offer their services in accordance with approved standards and procedures in line with domestic requirements and international best practice.

All applicants who have registered on the CSA’s licensing and accreditation portal but have not yet submitted complete applications are required to do so within this period of extension.
