Mr Johnson Aseidu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said the party nor its flagbear, John Dramani Mahama will never extend a word of Congratulation to anyone who murdered Ghanaians in order to secure political power.

According to him, political power is won based on the Will of the masses, but any person who kills people so he could take over power is not worth congratulations.

Aseidu Nketiah was responding to President Akufo-Addo comment that, Presidential candidate of the NDC in 2020 did not call to congratulate him for over three years after his election victory.

Addressing Journalists at a press conference on Monday, January 8,2024 ,in Accra, the NDC National Chairman said, so far the killing of the eight Ghanaians in the 2020 elections remained uninvestigated and the perpetrators still walked free unpunished, the party nor its flagbear would ever congratulate the person who supervises such heinous crime.

He reiterated NDC commitment to secure justices for the victims and their families when NDC wins power, stressing that, the perpetrators will be identified and prosecuted.

At least eight persons including a 14 years old boy were killed in the 2020 general election by elements suspected to be within the security services.

They were killed at separate locations and different parts of the country.

But there has not been effective investigation nor arrest of anyone connected to the shooting and the killing incidents.

The NDC has persistently accused President Akufo-Adoo as Commander of the Ghana Armed Forces as the person responsible for the killing to secure election victory.

The Party Chairman said the incidents were carried out to intimidate citizens, a situation he noted negated the democratic credentials of the country.

Mr Aseidu Nketiah however assured the victims and their families, the NDC will ensure justice prevails no matter how long it takes.
