As part of it’s objectives to put smile on the faces of the underprivileged in society, Life for Relief and Development, a non-government Organization (NGO) has donated assorted food items to deprived communities in the Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The donation was part of the United State of America (USA) based NGO effort to relieve the burden of families of the beneficiaries.

The donation, according to Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, the Country Director of Relief and Life Development responsible for West Africa, is to enable the residents to take active part in the 2024 Ramadan fasting season

He said this was not the first of it’s kind and that similar support have extended to some communities in similar situations across the country.

He explained that, the Organisation’s aim is to step in when emergencies strike to provide essential aid when and where it is needed, to the needy, Orphans to ease suffering and saving lives.

For him , the month of Ramadan is the the perfect time for charitable NGO to show love and care to the vulnerable in society.

“We have come to give you this food basket because we know, some of you are not able to partake in the fasting because you can not afford to have Suhur, We are here to assist you with this 2024 Ramadan food basket which contains, Rice, oil, spaghetti, tea leaf, sugar, milk, salt and anything that can help you enjoy a good and healthy meal at dawn ” he indicated.

This benevolence of Life Relief And Development was extended to a number of communities which includes Tenkong, Kokuomu in the Adawao area of the Akuapem North Municipal in the Eastern Region.

Also, in the Greater Accra Region, Sakoora, Redco, Aladjo, Pantang, Madina UN, among others has benefited from the 2024 Ramadan food basket

Mr Farouk revealed that, the organization is considering to include other Regions such as Oti, Volta, Savanna , North East and any community in other Regions that has deprived communities with poor and needy people.

Life for Relief and Development is a Humanitarian organization that provides essential and life-saving support to people regardless of their race, religion, gender, and cultural values or background.

It has over the years reached out to some communities and institutions and recently supported the Madina Constituency with some medical equipment to the Municipal Directorate of Health and books to the Education Directorates with the sole aim of bringing hope where it is needed most and supporting communities where there is extreme poverty.

Mr Umar Farouk was accompanied by staff of Life for Relief and Development to the deprived communities with a full load truck of items.
