Leader and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama has fired back at President Akufo-Addo, telling him he (Mahama) would not protect a legacy tainted with uncontrolled corruption and misruled governance.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo has no such legacy that is worth protection.

Mr. Mahama was reacting to a comment Akufo-Addo made at a campaign rally, urging electorates not to vote for Mahama for his legacy would not be protected under the Mahama led NDC government.

In responding to President Akufo-Addo, Mahama said, “of course, I will not protect your ‘legacy’ of corruption, misgovernance, arrogance, ineptitude, bankrupt economy, increased unemployment, and pushing more of our people into the poverty bracket.”

President Akufo-Addo governance has been labelled as the worst government in Ghana.

Almost all alleged corruption incidents are either sweep under carpet or unimpressed investigation.

President Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has been characterized with a wide range of corruption including a Dubai based gold trading Mafia known as Allister Mathias, illegal mining locally known  Galamsey, among other tainted bad business deals.

The latest is the Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML) scandal exposed by Manasseh Azure, an investigative Journalist with the Forth Estate.
