North Dayi MP Pays Medical Bills for Constituent Mothers on Mother’s Day
As part of her social intervention policy to provide healthcare for her constituents, the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Dayi, Jocelyn Tetteh, paid the medical bills of women who had given birth but were still detained in maternity wards due to unpaid bills.
This gesture was in commemoration of World Mother’s Day, celebrated on the second Sunday of May.
Hon. Tetteh, affectionately referred to as the “mother of the constituency,” visited the maternity and children’s wards of the Anfoega Catholic Hospital and paid the medical bills of both mothers and children.
Additionally, she donated diapers, soaps, toiletries, soft drinks, and half pieces of cloth to all the mothers in the wards to alleviate their burdens in caring for their babies.
The MP also provided financial support to the mothers to cover transportation costs when they were officially discharged from the hospital.
While commending the health workers at the hospital for their sacrifices in providing quality healthcare services to the people of North Dayi, Hon. Tetteh made a token donation to them and assured that she would continue to support them.
In her message, she advised young mothers to consider family planning to help them space the ages of their children and ensure their mental and physical health.
She also urged the hospital staff to continue their periodic outreach health sensitization and educate mothers, especially young ones, on the importance of antenatal care services.
Some of the mothers and hospital workers expressed their gratitude and promised to continue supporting and praying for Hon. Tetteh to serve the people of North Dayi.”
