His Excellency, Papa Owusu Ankomah is the Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. He also oversees Scotland, Wales and other countries in Europe.

He served in many political / ministerial offices during the Presidency of John Agyekum Kufour between 2001 and 2008.

He was appointed the Deputy Majority Leader of Parliament to the late Hon Joseph Henry Mensah, an astute political figure of the Danquah- Dombo- Busia stock.

H E POA was later made the leader of the House and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. His leadership achieved a lot for the then Government within the corridors of Parliament.

President Kufour also appointed him to the various Ministries. These included Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Trade and Industry Minister and the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports during his reign as a Minister, Ghana qualified to participate in another World Football Mundial. He was the performing Member of Parliament representing the good people of Sekondi, in the Western Region. He respectfully exited Parliament after serving his people for about four terms, visible footprints.

Furthermore, he was a political stature in the House. His debating skills were catchy, amazing and insightful. He courageously led the House very well as its leader.

He is a practicing Christian and a Methodist. It is surprising that he is methodically.

He is a senior lawyer with almost forty years at the Bar. He was once the head of Ghana Bar, when he was appointed the Attorney General and Minister of Justice.

Not only that, but he was appointed High Commissioner of our country to the United Kingdom by President Nana Akufo Addo. He also oversees Scotland, Wales and other European countries.

Interacting with some Ghanaians here in London, they have been expressing their delight and appreciation for his leadership.

They are confident that the Commission will continue to achieve a lot as many of their challenges are being addressed with alacrity.

They also commend him for not being too partisan, as he serves the people with nationalism and patriotism, even though he is a leading member of the current Government/ Party.

He is also demonstrating an excellent open door policy and participatory leadership, where he regularly interacts with the Ghanaian population in all the countries he oversees.

He has a productive working relationship with his staff and the media, especially Ghanaian affiliated media houses.

H E, Papa Owusu Ankomah has quickly mastered the traits of diplomacy and he is excellently living up to expectations, since his areas of leadership have been lecturing, law practice and advocacy and active politics.

Ghana is blessed with such an asset and it is my fervent prayers that Ghanaians within his jurisdiction of service will continue to liaise with him for their benefit and that of the country.
