Aflao and Kasoa to Get new Modern Markets under NDC- Mahama
The leader and Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ,John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to modernized the Aflao and Kasoa markets at Volta and Central regions respectively in the country.
According to him, the two markets which volumes of traders ought to be upgraded to make businesses trading more conducive to trade.
Mr Mahama disclosed this during a live conversation with the youth and ordinary Ghanaians on social media over the weekend.
He said just like the Kajetia and Ho markets, the next NDC government under his leadership would take steps to construct new modern markets in the country.
Last week, Mahama stormed the Tema fishing harbour and Promises Robust Fishing Industry.
The bustling Canoe Wharf area of the
Tema Fishing Harbour witnessed a flurry of activity as Mahama, brought his campaign to engage with
the local community.
In a bid to connect with a crucial segment of the population, Mahama
interacted with traders, fishmongers, fishermen, fish processors, canoe and equipment owners, and more.
He took the opportunity to reassure the Fisher folks of his commitment to reviving the fishing industry, pledging to address key concerns such as the delivery of essential supplies like
premix fuel and outboard motors to landing beach committees and chief fishermen.
The NDC leader also made a promise to exclude artisanal fishing from the closed-season policy, highlighting the need for targeted interventions to support the livelihoods of those
dependent on the sector.
Furthermore, Mahama stressed the importance of immediate action to jump start the Ghanaian economy, combat inflation and foster collaboration in building a prosperous future for the nation.
As the campaign season heats up, Mahama’s visit to the Canoe Wharf
area serves as a reminder of the pressing issues facing local communi-
ties and his vision for a revitalized and inclusive economy.
