Rev Wengam Begins Apostolic Visit to Ashanti North
The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God , Ghana , Rev Stephen Wengam, has visited Ashanti North Region on the second leg of his novel apostolic tour of the 24 administrative regions of the church.
The highlight of the visit was a meeting with pastors and their spouses, retired ministers and their spouses, and widows of deceased pastors at the Calvary Charismatic Centre in Kumasi .
The meeting was characterised by a three- hour, non-stop prayer session led by the General Superintendent.
His wife, Lady Mrs Monica Wengam presented cash and material gifts to retired ministers and their spouses, and widows of deceased pastors. The wives of all the pastors, whether present or absent, also received pieces of cloth. This was to inspire them to continue to give of their best for the Lord’s work, and help mitigate the economic hardship of the retirees, widows of deceased ministers and pastors serving in deprived or rural areas.
The presentation of gifts to the beneficiaries is a project initiated and sponsored by Lady Mrs Monica Wengam who doubles as the National President of the Ministers Wives Association of Assemblies of God, Ghana. She encouraged the beneficiaries to excel in their roles.
Special intercessory prayers were offered for local church projects , particularly, on acquisition of land for church buildings, completion of temples and breakthrough for pastors and their families. Rev Wengam laid hands on pastors to impart spiritual gifts , and also prayed for the sick.
In an exhortation titled ,”How To Rescue The Captives of Satan Into Christ’s Marvelous Light”, the General Superintendent challenged the pastors and their spouses to lead their local churches and the various departments to pursue aggressive evangelism and church planting to fulfil the “Send The Light” mandate of the church.
