Gabby Otchere-Darko, a key figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has dared the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, to present a single corruption case against President Akufo-Addo, his family, or appointees that matches the gravity of the Airbus scandal.

Otchere-Darko criticized the NDC and Mahama for what he called baseless accusations against the Akufo-Addo administration.

He referenced the recent ruling by the Office of the Special Prosecutor, which exonerated Mahama in the Airbus case, challenging the NDC to compare their allegations against the NPP with the well-documented Airbus case.

“But what’s interesting is this: Let’s dare the opposition and their ‘squeaky clean’ leader to name one clear case (not mere allegation) against Akufo-Addo, his family members, or appointees that comes anywhere remotely close to this Airbus case,” Otchere-Darko posted on X on Friday, August 9.

He also accused the NDC of relying on a book of fiction, “Agyapadie,” to falsely claim that the hardships Ghanaians face today are worse than under Mahama’s tenure, dismissing the NDC’s comparisons as unfounded.

Otchere-Darko criticized NDC’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, for praising Mahama after the OSP’s ruling.

He argued that while Mahama has been cleared in the Airbus case, the NDC has continued to make unsubstantiated corruption allegations against the NPP.

The post concluded with Otchere-Darko expressing relief for Mahama and his family but reiterated that the scrutiny of corruption should be applied equally across the political spectrum.
