2024 Polls: Vote for an Experienced Candidate, Not ‘Try Me’ Candidates – Mahama Urges Ghanaians
Former President John Dramani Mahama has strongly asserted that Ghana needs a seasoned leader to address its current economic challenges, rather than an experimental one.
Speaking at a community engagement in Juapong in the Volta Region, the NDC’s 2024 Flagbearer made a compelling case for his re-election in the upcoming December 7 polls.
During his campaign tour in the Volta Region, Mahama emphasized the NDC’s commitment to prioritizing youth development in the next government.
He recalled previous elections, stating, “In 2016, they said, ‘Try me, and if in four years I don’t do well, you can vote me out.’
The same thing is being said by another ‘try me’ candidate now. But the youth of this country don’t have the time to experiment with leadership again.”
He continued, “What we need is an experienced hand—someone who has led this country before and whose work we have witnessed. We are not going to experiment. We are returning to experience and expertise to turn our country around so that our youth can have a brighter future.”
Mahama also urged the youth to accept any money offered by politicians but to make the right choice at the ballot box.
“Before the election, they will come with plenty of money. When they do, I beg you, take it. But when you go to the ballot box, remember the eight years of suffering, hunger, and poverty. Vote for the government and the president who will turn this nation around,” he added.
