Faith in Humanity, a Switzerland-based NGO, in partnership with the Christ Love Community Church in West Adenta, has successfully commissioned a life-changing water project for two communities—Labun Quarters and Kudjo Krom—in the Bono East Region of Ghana.

The water kiosk, inaugurated on Friday, 6th September 2024, stands as a symbol of the organizations’ commitment to supporting underprivileged communities within the sub-region.

The president of Faith in Humanity, Kolumban Baumgartner, who presided over the commissioning ceremony, emphasized the project’s significance.

He noted that the kiosk, completed in just two years, now provides clean and safe water to the residents of Labun Quarters and Kudjo Krom, who have lacked access to potable water for nearly five decades.

“For over 50 years, these communities relied on a small, unprotected stream, shared by both humans and animals, as their sole source of water. This posed a significant health risk, contributing to waterborne diseases,” Baumgartner explained.

He said, “We hope that this water kiosk will drastically improve their quality of life and prevent future health issues.”

Rev. Isaac Antwi, Country Director of Faith in Humanity and a minister of the Christ Love Community Church, expressed his gratitude and reiterated their dedication to continuing developmental projects in the country.

“This is just the beginning. We are committed to bringing more initiatives like this to communities in need,” Rev. Antwi said.

The project, which cost $30,000, was completed in two years and is expected to have a lasting impact on the lives of the residents of Labun Quarters and Kudjo Krom, providing them with a safe, reliable source of water for years to come.
