Mahama picks 8 on Ballot to Reset Ghana
President John Dramani Mahama, the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has picked number 8 on the ballot paper for December 7 election.
Biblically, the number 8 signified new beginning and NDC members believed Mahama 8th position on the ballot is God designed to reset the country.
Politically,some interpret the number 8 to mean the NDC will stop the NPP from breaking the 8.
His main political rival of the governing New Patriotic Party, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has picked the number 1 slot on the ballot paper, while the All People’s Congress (APC) candidate, Hassan Abdulai Ayariga, secured the 9th spot on the ballot.
Also, Kofi Akpaloo of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) picked number 5, and Nana Akosua Frimpomaa of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) drew the 7th position.
At a special balloting exercise at the headquarters of the Electoral Commission on Friday, September 20, 2024, Kofi Koranteng, an independent candidate, secured the 10th position, while George Twum Barima will appear in the 11th spot. The New Force Movement, led by Nana Kwame Bediako (Cheddar), has been placed in the 12th position, and the Movement for Change led by Alan Kyerematen will be listed last at number 13.
